SEARS 572 February 12, 2004 Launch Report
The Southeast Alabama Rocketry Society held a launch on February 12th, 2005 at Samson, AL. The weather was excellent; mostly blue skys and moderate winds. Temps were in the 60's. There were 21 flyers with 113 flights total.
Our feature event was a mass launch of
Two Dozen Deuce's Wilds. Most were stock Fliskits and some were
scratch. One was the Deuce of Hazzard 13mm version of the Deuces Wild
built by Jim Flis.
A special 24 rod launch pad and 24 output
launch controller was used. When the button was pressed thirteen left
the pad immediately followed by ten more a few seconds later.

Tom Binford from Statesboro GA brought his 54mm Deuce upscale. It was a perfect flight on two J350s.

Jose Cuadra supplied a Deuce but was not present. This event
was inspired by the unique design of the Deuce's Wild kit by Jim Flis
of Fliskits. Thanks Jim!
Another event was a the Eggs Over Easy Alabama egg lofting contest with one egg on C motors. The score was the average of the flights. John Stein won this event and will get a draw from the prize pool.

It was a special privledge to have Tom Binford at our launch. All his flights demonstrated his rocketry mastery. In particular the Upscale Deuce's Wild on two J350s, his upscale Tres on three J210s. and the successful 4 stage a rack and stack rocket D12-0, D12-0, D12-0 and E9-8
John Hansel had the largest HPR motor of the day flying his PML ½ Scale patriot on a AMW K800 Blue Baboon.

We had TARC teams from Pace and Liberty County participating. We were able to make a $35 donation to each team in support of their efforts.
