June 19, 2004 Launch Report
The Southeast Alabama Rocketry Society held a launch on June 19th 2004 at Samson, AL. The weather conditions were mostly cludy skies with temps between 84 and 93 degrees. Winds were variable in the AM and from the Northwest in the PM up to 7 mph. There were 18 flyers with 103 flights total.
We had two club events. The first was Booster Mania for boost gliders There were 7 boost glider flights. Marty Wiggins won the draw from the prize pool for a Estes Wacky Wiggler. The second event was Glider Thang Mass launch. John had a solo mass launch and won a Edmonds CiCi boost glider from the prize pool.
Paula Smith had a successful TRA level Two cert flight on a R.E.D Rockets Silver Bullet on a J350. Congrats Paula!!!
The high power "Flight of the Day" was Frank Jones' R.E.D. Rockets Bad Moon Rising weighing 39 lbs on a AMW M1480 RR. (I'll get more details on this one to post later). Note that Drew Johnson and Frank Jones have formed Tripoli Perfecture # 38.
